I’ve now constructed a handful of cryptic crosswords. I’m still not sure whether I’m following all the rules, but I’m pleased with the way this puzzle turned out. Any tips/corrections/comments would be greatly appreciated!
Not to fear, non-cryptic solvers – I’ll post an American-style midi in a couple of days.
Keep scrolling down for an explanation of the answers.

This is a reminder that I need to resuscitate my goal of trying to better understand/solve cryptics! A couple of days ago, someone commented on a Rows Garden of mine, from back in March, in which I’d tried my hand at a couple of cryptic clues. He suggested a rewording of one of them and shared the link to this site.

Thanks for the link. I’ve been solving cryptics for almost two years now and they have gotten a bit easier and far more rewarding. In other words, your goal is well worth resuscitating!
