While mulling over ideas for a Labor Day puzzle, I found the quote that’s the focus of this puzzle and knew I had to use it. The title refers to the ratio of Fortune 500 CEO pay to the pay of an average worker in those companies. I believe it answers the question in the quote.

A most apropos quote for today! I wonder what the ratio would be for Elon Musk and the employees of SpaceX, Tesla, NeuraLink, etc. (I probably wouldn’t want to know). 59A was a new word/principle for me. Favorite clue = 16D.

Thanks, Jeanne! The clue for 16D is a common cryptic construction: “could be” often indicates an anagram.
