20 Across was the seed for today’s themeless; the other long across answers followed in an effort at end-of-alphabet symmetry. I originally clued 6 Across/11 Across with reference solely to the Who song, but then added the “school” qualifier and reference to Ms. Frizzle in a blatant stab at pandering to a somewhat younger generation.
